Education Project
Education is the key to an independent life.
The ages of the children we support through education at the Lukhanyiso Safe House, start from 4 years old and go up to 20 years old.
Our goal is to educate each child who comes to stay in the Safe House, to a point where they can be trained to do something worthwhile, be employed or have a skill to start their own business, and all live successful lives.
At present we have 6 children in the Plettenberg Bay Christian School, 3 at Van Kervel High School in George, 1 at a pre school in the township, 1 at the Rondevlei Learning Centre in Sedgefield and 1 at Concordia High School.
We have 2 children who are starting University this year. Junior who used to live at the Safe House, passed his school exams with a University pass and has great ambition for his life. He was accepted at the Stellenbosch University near Cape Town. We have 75% of his funding secured by the Khyamandi Foundation, but if anyone would consider helping fund Junior for the rest of the funding he needs, can you please email Penny on info@lukhanyisosafehouse.co.za. I can guarantee this young man is going to go far. He is positive, enthusiastic, determined, has a strong faith to make it happen.
The other young person hoping to start at University this year, is Yomi. She is waiting for her final school diploma to come through and then her desire is to get a nursing degree. She has most of her funding secured by the Khyamandi Foundation, but is short for living and transport.
Sports Development
Support offered by Lukhanyiso Safe House
Safe Shelter
Lukhanyiso Safe House provides a safe home for neglected and abused children, many of whom are rescued from violent situations.
Daily Necessities
We provide children with a home, love, food, clothes, education and a safe living environment.
Counselling
Ella offers counselling to women and children who suffer and live in harsh, violent and abusive circumstances due to relationships and life in the township.
Education Project
We support 14 children through private education, 1 doing online schooling and 2 children at University (with the help of the Khyamandi Foundation and other donors from all over the world).
